Review: GIGA Scalp Conditioner

I am having some scalp problems lately and it's a big problem since I always wear black. I tried a lot of other products like, Guard and Head and Shoulders, Pamolive. Sadly, none of them done the trick. It got me thinking, "hey all these products are from abroad! do we have any natural / local / home DIY resolution for this?".

Then I came across virgin coconut oil products. It made me even happier because I know we are one of the main producers of VCO, "I'm sure I can find a ready to use shampoo or conditioner to treat my dandruff."

So I browsed products from lazada.com.ph and found out about GIGA Scalp Conditioner.

GIGA Scalp Conditioner

Lucy for me, they have a kiosk at our local mall in SM Fairview. I tried it, and I got immediate results.

PROS'

  • It's very concentrated, so you do not need to use a lot of it. And I long hair that goes through the small of my back, but I did not have to scoop up a lot to apply on my scalp.

  • I find that its easy to apply. I have dry color treated hair but despite it, I was able to massage it easily through my scalp and some areas that I have really dry hair.

  • Don't know if its exactly a pro, but I did not like how it smelled from the jar, but when I put it on my hair and scalp, it became fragrant for me. Like a massage oil type of thing? I loved the smell then in the shower so I enjoyed massaging it through my scalp.

  • One more reason why I enjoyed massaging it, is because it has that minty feel on your scalp. Not overpowering and chemically like Head and Shoulders, but when you feel it, you know that it's working at the same time, is still being gentle compared to other brands.

  • You can use it as a leave in conditioner or even as a hair treatment.

  • Price! Of course! You get the value of a leave in conditioner and scalp treatment for the price of one!

CONS'

  • Be careful with the instructions. You have to use this conditioner first then cleanse your hair with shampoo.

  • It's kind of hard to rinse thoroughly. That's why you have to be careful and not use too much.

  • Time to take in the shower, at least 15 mins.

  • I have so far used it only once, it took care of the flakiness of my scalp, but I feel like it made my hair static... I dunno, I did get a haircut and blow-dried my hair in afternoon, so maybe its because of the blow-dry? I dunno.

OVER-ALL

I really liked it. It worked wonders for my scalp. I know I am helping the farmers of coconut out there. You guys did a great job making this product! I'm giving it 4/5.

Maybe I'll try their Shampoo Bar next time and post a review.

I'm a patriotic citizen of the Philippines who is, ironically, working for a BPO company. To make up for this, I feel obliged to promote our local products and services, ultimately, to generate more work for our fellow country men. It's sad that, it seems like, most of our kababayan choose imported products than products that are 100% made from the Philippines.
